Acceptance rules

Impregnated poles details are presented for acceptance by lots. The lot is the number of poles details, impregnated at the same time, issued with a single document on quality and having the same marking.
Verification of the quality of impregnated poles details and their compliance with the requirements of specifications is made for each lot.
If unsatisfactory results are obtained, at least one of the indicators is repeated for twice the number of poles detials. The results of the re-checking are final. If the results of the re-checking are unsatisfactory, the lot is rejected and must be individually sorted. The rejected details are returned for elimination of the revealed defects.
The results of the control tests should be entered in the quality control register and presented to the consumer in case of his request.

Control methods

Control check of defects of wood, quality of processing and the sizes poles details is made before impregnation in accordance with GOST 2140-81, GOST 9463-88.
The pre-impregnation humidity of the poles details is determined according to GOST 20022.14-93.
The concentration of the impregnating solution is calculated before each impregnation according to the nomograms of the antiseptic manufacturers based on the density and temperature measurements of the impregnating solution.
The appearance of the impregnated poles details is checked visually.
The quality of impregnation of wood is characterized by total absorption of the antiseptic and the depth of impregnation.
Total absorption of antiseptic (A) in kg/m3 is calculated by the formula:
       = V1 / 100 V2,
      where,
      V1 -- volume of absorbed antiseptic solution, m3;
       -- density of impregnating solution, kg/m3;
       -- antiseptic concentration in the impregnating solution, %;
      V2 -- - volume of impregnated poles details, m3.
       Absorption of the antiseptic solution is determined based on the values C, V1, V2, .
      The received data, as well as information on pressure, temperature during the impregnation process, are the factory certificate (passport) of the impregnated lot.

The depth of impregnation is determined by the thickness of the colored layer of wood. For this purpose from each lot of impregnated poles details randomly select at least 5 pieces of details.
Sampling for determining the depth of impregnation is made by a core drill with an internal diameter of 5.0 - 10.0 mm. The drill is introduced into the wood of the circular poles detail in the radial direction to a depth exceeding the prescribed impregnation depth by 3.0 - 5.0 mm. Holes after sampling close up of wooden plugs impregnated with the same antiseptic. Sampling points should not have cracks, knots and holes.
From each poles detail selected for testing, take one sample from the sapwood and core (if the poles detail has a naked core) at a distance:
      -- not less than 180 cm from the butt-end face for the poles details, the ends of which are buried in the ground to a depth of more than 100 cm and for piles;
      -- at least 100 cm from the butt-end face in all other cases.
The selected sample is measured with a metal ruler with a division value of 1.0 mm width of the impregnated layer.
The depth of impregnation consider relevant technical requirements, if 90% of the samples satisfy the requirements of section 1.3.4.
